THE ETERNAL NURTURER

——————————————————————————

One word which ties us all to our future is HOPE..

Imagine a future without flowers and trees..where greed has spawned barren lands and walls...

even such a thought is stifling.....isn't it?

But then....comes the harbinger of tomorrow...sprinkling the rain of faith

Now..

The barren grounds turn to luscious greens and blossoms in every hue sprout around HER

SHE brings the bees and the beauty..sprouting buds of hope and roots of prosperity.

SHE was there in every civilization

SHE is there right now.

SHE will be there tomorrow ...

Look around, SHE is nearby, tending to flowers...as the bees sing to HER

SHE is HOPE

SHE is THE ETERNAL NURTURER

The Eternal Nurturer was my submission towards the Spring Open Call 2023 at RUA RED. The theme being : ‘Displacement and Belonging - Home’.

The selected artists are exploring the idea of 'Home'; What is home? Where is home? Is this my home? Thematics emerge such as migration, dislocation, and relocation; from the most personal sense of being connected to a place, and to each other, to the wider context of the prevailing disconnection and uncertainties in society today.

To me any place can be home where there is HOPE. The Eternal Nurturer is HOPE, life springs around her.

The exhibition opens on Friday 24 February and runs until the 22 April 2023.

** I have made a small clip with the same narration around this painting - the link is here - https://youtu.be/zs5L5WYippg

STRADA EASEL SEPTEMBER CHALLENGE - Day 1

I am doing the Strada Easel challenge this September. Let’s see how it goes

Day 1

Strada Easel Challenge

Ink sketch and wash

Still life

Strada September paint/sketch from life challenge is a good way to brush up your daily practice. I have done it a couple of times in the past but managing to create one artwork every day of the month sketched live from a subject is not very easy ...but when you have hundreds of artists around the world do the same you build up each other's morale and you get to see and learn from such amazing creations.

Looking forward to complete the challenge this September 😀

1/30 Ink sketch and wash, pretty satisfied with the work 😑

1/30 A Buddha head from Bali was the study today.
